4-H Camp

The theme this year is “4H Fiesta” and the members from the Morning Glories, Melissa Yoshioka’s group, & the Boy Scouts of America troop are excitedly putting together this wonderful event. The cost went out as $20.00/camper & $10.00/cloverbuds earlier.

We are only inviting Gr. 1 & older members because we will be going on a 45 minute hike after breakfast on Saturday, then return to camp for snack & refreshments before we break into 2 groups (cloverbuds & jr/sr’s) at 9:30 am. Melissa will take her cloverbuds & her moms will have crafts, games, relays in the Longhouse. The jr/sr groups will participate in riflery, archery, first aid, CPR, & fire building demonstrated by the Boy Scouts. The Morning Glories will be in charge of crafts, ice breakers & mixers. We will then have lunch and an awards ceremony at 11:00 am. We are scheduled to cleanup & leave by 12:00 pm. “Fiesta” means to party so come & enjoy!

Gingerbread House Building

This activity turned out to be an enjoyable activity for all who participated. A & B Foundation donated the Gingerbread house kits. Candy used for decorating was donated by the participants. Completed Gingerbread Houses were greatly appreciated by the families of The Neighborhood Place. Discussion about whether this activity should continue to be a competition or a non-competitive, community service project.

Nutrition Fair and Poster Contest

The fair is hosted by the WR Starlights and Bunnies and will take place on March 18, 2006 from 9:00 am - 12 noon at the Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center. There is no charge for non-profit activities and there will be food demonstrations and games.
